Chef d’équipe
The interpreter/team leader who is the client’s contact
during the conference. The chef d’équipe supervises the interpreting
team and ensures communication between the interpreters and the conference contact
person.
Active language
The “target” language into which the interpreter
translates.
Passive language
The original “source” language out of which
the interpreter translates.
Track
The channel from which the audience can listen to the
translation. The technician sets up a track for each active language.
Briefing Day
A work day in which the interpreters receive information
about the job. Briefing days are used mainly for very technical conferences
or meetings.
